Who we are
Cyber Insights is a cybersecurity awareness resource operated by the Information Technology department of the Corona-Norco Unified School District (CNUSD). This site is intended for CNUSD staff, students, and families. It is not a commercial service and does not sell products or advertising.
What information we collect
We collect information only when you actively submit it through a form on this site. This includes:
- Incident reports — your name, email address, school or department, and a description of the security concern you're reporting.
- Training requests — your name, email address, school or department, role, and training preferences.
We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect payment information. We do not collect information from visitors who only read articles or watch videos.
How we use your information
Information submitted through forms is used only to:
- Respond to the incident or training request you submitted
- Follow up with you if we need more details
- Improve our security response processes
We do not use your information for marketing, share it with third parties outside of CNUSD, or add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies or behavioral tracking. We do not run Google Analytics or similar third-party tracking scripts.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may collect basic, anonymized traffic data (such as page views and country of origin) as part of its standard service. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual visitors. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Embedded YouTube videos
The Watch & Learn section embeds videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode
(youtube-nocookie.com). In this mode, YouTube does not set cookies on
your device unless you choose to play a video. If you do play a video, YouTube may
collect viewing data subject to
Google's privacy policy.
You can always watch any video directly on YouTube instead.
Student privacy — FERPA and COPPA
CNUSD is committed to protecting student privacy in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the California Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA).
This site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what is necessary to respond to a submitted report or request. If you believe a student under 13 has submitted personal information through this site, please contact us at the address below and we will promptly delete it.
Student information submitted through this site is used solely for the purpose stated at the time of submission and is not shared with third parties, used for advertising, or combined with other data sources.
California privacy rights
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to request its deletion. Because this site collects only the minimum information needed to respond to your requests, and does not sell data, most CCPA provisions have limited applicability here. However, we are committed to honoring these rights.
To make a request regarding your personal information, contact us at the address below.
Data retention
Incident reports and training requests are retained only as long as needed to resolve the request or as required by district records retention policies. We do not retain personal information beyond those purposes.
External links
This site links to external resources, including YouTube videos, campaign pages, and district tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
